Getting Clicks in Flixya

Posted by flixya on March 30, 2008

How do I get more traffic to my blog?

Flixya Bloggers that don’t get this crucial point end up being tiny islands in a very big ocean. I believe the biggest thought of most Newbies in Flixya is “I’ve built it, but no-one’s come to visit.”

Instead, you need to get involved! Regardless of your topic, I bet there are already other people blogging about the same issues, thoughts and ideas, even if you don’t agree with them. Join their conversation — on their territory — and you’ll be leaving your island and joining the party.

Here’s an easy tip that I tell other Bloggers: two days a week spend an hour writing one thoughtful and cogent article that’s relevant to your target readership. Imagine you’re going to be having it picked up and published in one of the key trade publications in your marketplace. Good grammar, good spelling, coherent sentences, and a valuable point or insight are all important. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but I promise you, the better you write, the more your potential of getting noticed.

Cogent article that’s relevant to your target Readership:

Many Flixya Members just spend their time in Flixya copying articles from one source or another and pasting it into their Flixya Blog? No originality, no theme, no purpose? (I too have made this mistake)You want people to come to your Blog but yet you post content that everyone else posts? The key is originality and some conformity! I posted an article a while back about finding a topic (Theme) and sticking to it!

I see many Members in Flixya just post anything and then spend allot of time within Flixya giving hits to other members and think that’s the secret? It isn’t sorry to say!

Flixya’s creators have given you great tools to promote your Adsense and get your Blog noticed but allot of the work is really up to you. You need to post original content (Pictures, YoutubeVideos, Articles) into your Flixya Blog. If you have a hard time with English and are afraid to write something, then post Pictures or Video and find Articles that relate to them?

Example: You’re from Thailand and your English isn’t that good

  1. Post pictures or Video of, Family, Thailand or something you like allot!

Then go Online to a search engine (I use Google of course) and search for articles related to your Pictures or Video

Then copy and paste them into your Flixya Blog. If you post pictures about Bangkok then find articles about Bangkok.

  1. The next job is of course RSS linking or promoting your Flixya Blog on the internet through other Blogs that talk about the same thing as you? If you go back to Google Search again and search for Blogs similar to yours and then make a comment and add a link back to your Flixya Blog. This will bring outside traffic to your Flixya Blog and will help in generating clicks to your Adsense. If you think members in Flixya are going to click your Adsense ads think again! Its people outside of Flixya that find your Blog that click your ads!

The other three days of the week? Find other blogs (See above) that are in your market space and add thoughtful comments to their discussions. Sometimes, when appropriate, link back to your own articles, but other times add your own comments just to participate in the ongoing discussion and, yes, gain some visibility in your marketspace.

Over time you’ll gain a reputation as a credible expert and people will start checking out your blog to see what you have to say. Then you’ll have gained traffic and visibility in your market segment, which is where it’s most important anyway.

I spend a fair amount of my time scanning both blog and news headlines (via RSS using technorati) and then popping onto other weblogs and adding my two cents. It’s fun, rewarding, and helps me gain visibility in a way that writing even the best darn blog could never accomplish.

I hope this helps you out?

RSS Flixya and Comments

Posted by flixya on March 28, 2008

Friends in Flixya “Link to me and I will link to you”.  RSS

The topic of Blog RSS linking has been covered many times before from all the different aspects, talking from social aspects to technical aspects to traffic on your Blogs issues.

Here is the list of what I think the benefits of linking, by no way is this a complete list of even what I think. If you think key points are missing, put on as comments.

  1. When you RSS to a Blog or a website, you recognize other person’s work
  2. You become authority of something
  3. When you RSS link to somebody else’s Blog and you put your own opinions and views against it, it creates more value. You can even correct that person if he is wrong in the first place.
  4. You reference other person’s work if you are extracting parts from it.
  5. You web the Internet more closely and this helps in your Google positioning too.
  6. It creates a social connection. This is my favorite reason. For example when people link to me or I see any referrer coming, I visit his Blog which makes me aware of the existence of his Blog, it makes me realize that he is a regular reader of my Blog and I read other posts on his Blog and if they interest me, I normally tend to subscribe to those Blogs. This has two benefits, firstly my reading is increasing and secondly the readers of the other Blog are increasing too, as the chances that I will link to that Blog again in the future drastically increases.
  7. URL linking helps in social networking too, I know many people now that I look forward to meeting when I go back to Thailand and the whole connection began just either because they commented on my Blog or they linked to my Blog.
  8. Using services like Flixya, Google and Technorati, I know who all are talking about me when they RSS link to my Blog.
  9. The other common benefits of ‘Tracked By’.
  10. You really make the person you link to proud of himself and his writing.
  11. You are sharing your readers with the other person creating a bigger network.
  12. Linking RSS increases your web presence
  13. One last this when writing comment add your Blog address, write a proper comment, don’t Just put ( +, 1 )

I had many distractions while writing up this post; I have forgotten few other benefits!! While writing this post I also got an invitation from Technorati by potofgold who is now in my friends list and she tells me that she is a regular reader of my Flixya Blog. So when your visiting a Blog don’t just become a friend SUBSCRIBE

Let RSS & Blogging in Flixya Show you the Money!

Posted by flixya on March 28, 2008

If you have been following all the latest developments in Internet marketing you will have discovered a few things. Recent trends are proving to be very lucrative for those savvy marketers who are taking advantage of these new changes.

First, video is popping up everywhere: on websites, in sales letters, in testimonials and in training manuals. Google (reluctant beacon of all things net) is making its move on video in a big way by videotizing their ads and by snatching up You Tube for a Billion and some change.

Second, if you have placed a Blog and RSS feed on your own website, your stats will show you that Blogging is an excellent source of traffic. RSS is a simple way to get your content on the web - including your videos and pod casts. RSS and Blogging are propelling the social networks which are burning up the web and video is only adding fuel to the fire. Flixya, You Tube and My Space barely cracks the surface of the online community building fury that’s revving up the web. Social networking fulfils our need to be connected in a much unconnected world. Our need to be a part of a group is universal. RSS and Blogging are the tools that make this connection possible. We can keep in touch and connected to the groups or subjects that interest us the most. We feel a part of the group. We feel connected. We feel organized. We feel important.

Advantages of Social Networking Sites like Flixya

Social networking sites like Flixya are an excellent places to build good-will and trust among its users. They are also great places to market or pitch new products as many online marketers have discovered. One has to wonder just how the new RSS powered version of Windows (Vista) will impact social networking sites like Flixya. Will it explode the already strong interest in Blogging to make it the dominant form of communication on the web? Will RSS become the dominant means of connecting all the dots? Regardless of how all this plays out, RSS and Blogging are already an online marketer’s dream come true. Web marketers are taking full advantage of this medium within a medium, just look at the number of marketers who have started Blogs such as Neil Shearing, John Reese… Marlon Sanders has even started his own My Space site! Can you remember a recent launch of any major Internet product within the last year or so that didn’t have a Blog attached to it. From Andy Jenkins & Brad Fallon’s “Stomping the Search Engines” to Brad Callen’s “Keyword Elite” to Joel Comm’s “Instant Adsense Templates.” In a similar light, can you think of any major launch that did not have video as an important feature in its marketing? Joel Comm even used a video on You Tube to get his Google Adsense points across. Why is RSS and Blogging so important to these marketers? Why have they become essential tools no online marketer can ignore? Why are they so important? The answer is quite simple and obvious. It all relates to keywords. As you probably already know keywords are the exact words or phrases surfers type into search engines to find what they’re looking for on the web. Keyword powers the web. Keywords power much of the online marketing on the net. All this buying and selling are connected to keywords in one way or another. RSS and Blogging have an automatic keyword system built into its operating structure. It comes preloaded with the means to take full advantage of keywords and keyword marketing. The whole system is run by tags or categories. These tags or categories are recognized by the search engines as keywords. So if you use popular free blogging software like Word Press, you will have a simple way to create keyword targeted content within seconds. Targeted keyword content can also be syndicated around the web instantly. Build a whole Blog of related keyword content and you will have created a powerful online marketing system.

Marketers are taking advantage of RSS and Blogging for this reason. It is a quick and simple way of dominating a niche area and ranking high for the popular and lucrative keywords in their niche or industry. The advent of video has made these Blogs and feeds much more accessible to a larger audience or marketplace. Once these marketers have gained dominance for popular keywords in their niche, they can convert or monetize this traffic in countless ways: selling their own products, building their lists or using Google Adsense and affiliate links. For these savvy online marketers it can be a very lucrative and profitable system. RSS and Blogging have indeed shown them the money!

Flixya and Adsense

Posted by flixya on March 20, 2008

Making a Good thing Bad?

I joined Flixya quite a while ago and worked very hard uploading content to my blog? Now I see members have created scripts that will automatically upload articles and Video to their blogs.

Its content on auto pilot

I guess I could use the script too but somehow I feel its not in the spirit of Flixya.

Since these members started uploading with script I have noticed a massive decline in my adsense revenue and my blog has lost its google index with google rating too.

I not sure if Flixya allows the use of Auto Script, but from what I see they don’t seem to care? I would assume that content is content and these script uploaders are giving Flixya the page impressions required by Google in order to keep up their Google’s Adsense API?

I hope the content being upload can actually be monitored by Flixya as it would be a shame if they lost their API account due to improper postings? But then again none of us members really know the deal they struck with Google.

Its actually very sad to see the decline of relevant content in Flixya and even more sad to see the decline of members who worked hard to create their Blogs and the content within. Now it seems Flixya is turning out to be an adsense mill for new Members. They create an account (or should I say accounts as many have multiple accounts) set up the upload script and mass upload content to their Blogs. Some of them even take the time to visit other blogs and mass hit them in hopes of indexing there articles that where posted with this upload script?

With Flixya giving away 100% of the Adsense Revenue it was only a matter of time before scrpiters took advantage of the situation and are possibly ruining  it for everyone else?

When I First Joined Flxiya the content was diverse and Members posted relevant content. Now with these scripters the site is mass published with the same articles over and over again. They even seem to be uploading the same videos over and over again? No wonder my adsense is in the toilet

The creators of Flixya developed a site that was a benefit to all that joined being able to generate a little revenue for the content you published.

Now it seems like a free for all with people creating numerous accounts and then turning on the upload script in hopes of an adsense win fall?
So now its to the point of wait and see?

Maybe these scripters will tire and move on or maybe its me who should move on like many of the Most Viewed members are doing?

I state the most viewed members as these are the Flixya Members that I believe are the the ones that really (Share Everything) in the spirit of Flixya.

P.S. I wonder if this article will even be read by members as these mass uploaders are dominating the site making it very difficult for the real posters to be even seen :(

Making Money with Flixya

Posted by flixya on January 27, 2008

http://alasmar.flixya.comflixya.com is a site where you write a blog or an article, upload photos and videos; basically socialize with everyone. We all do this on myspace.com, facebook.com and other sites. However, the positive thing about fixya.com is you’ll be making money from the ads placed on your profile. and You will be receiving 100% of the revenues from the clicks around your articles, blogs, photos, videos, etc. Now, come on who wouldn’t want to make some extra cash? Especially if you love writing, like I do, then you will be doing something you enjoy and most likely do often anyways for free. Except this time you’ll be getting paid for it. and Now, the question is who pays you? Google adsense is your answer. You can sign up for a google adsense account here: http://walkaboutangel.googlepages.com/googlestuff and Then once you sign up you will be giving a pub number, which you will use on flixya.com. and Once you have everything set up, you’ll be making money by the clicks you get to the google ads in your profile. The way to get clicks to your ads is to write articles or blogs and then promote them so that you can drive traffic to your ads. Trust me, it’s a lot easier than it sounds.

The Share Factor

Posted by flixya on December 19, 2007

The Share Factor
Posted in: People in microsyntra’s Blog

Most people who visit Flixya.com to view videos do not understand the purpose of people sharing videos on Flixya.com and it all has to do with participation.

When you view a video clip that someone has uploaded to Flixya.com, you’ll see Google Adsense Text Advertisements. When you click on those advertisements that you are curious about or that interest you, the person that uploaded that video earns commissions.

You come to Flixya.com or return often to view videos that others have uploaded for your enjoyment.

Many people that upload videos to Flixya.com simply give up, because you are not showing your support to the people who uploaded videos for your enjoyment and… you only need to click on those advertisement if you are curious about them or find interest in them.

You as a viewer can greatly help the people who upload videos to Flixya.com, by doing what is mentioned above and… by you sharing the video link with others that you know, such as by sending an email link of the video to all the people that you know.

This helps keep Flixya.com more interesting and it shows your support to all those people who uploaded videos to Flixya.com.

Sharing videos is the most important thing you can do to help Flixya.com and to also help those that have uploaded videos to Flixya.com.

Posted by flixya on December 16, 2007

Some of you may be able to see the new Flixya site. In addition to videos, we have added photos and blogs. We built the site from the ground up, so there are a lot of new features and some changes. The best news is that you now earn 100% ad revenue! You can also set up a profile and share all your videos and photos on one page.

We have started to migrate all the data from Flixya V1 to Flixya V2. If you are an existing member, you should be able to log in with your existing username and password. The migration of all member and password information should be completed by Tuesday, June 19th.

If you have a Google publisher id, you can add this to your existing account by logging in and clicking on “My Account”, then “Revenue Settings” and select yes and follow the prompts. If you run into any errors, please contact us at contact@flixya.com.

If you notice something out of place, it might be temporary, but we hope to have any rough spots ironed out over the next few days!

There should not be much (if any) downtime. Thanks for your patience in advance and we look forward to seeing you online!
